Upon receiving the Bronze Award, Lucy Millard, the Oxford Brookes University's Environmental Co-ordinator and EMS manager quoted:

We have a reputation of being one of the environmental leaders in higher education, as our recent top 5 placing in the Green League of universities demonstrates. EcoCampus is a way for us to publicly show our dedication to environmental issues and our commitment to continual improvement, this has also been reinforced by recently signing the Green Education Declaration. Implementing Bronze was a challenge as it made us realise what gaps we had in the university but it was also very useful as it raised awareness of these and gave us a good structure to start putting procedures in place to fix them. Bronze also started to bring different areas of the University together under the EMS banner and has given everyone a direction and target to aim for."
